Last Home Study Visit

I am so excited that we are FINISHED with our home study!!!!  We had the social worker come to our home for a visit today.  It went really well.  She had each boy say a few character traits about his brother.  It was going smashingly until Sam was asked to describe his best friend Kevin.  He said... and I quote:  "Well,  he is really good at baseball and he is aggressive".  Great word for the ball field... not so great for the home study!  Truth be told, Kevin had just pinched Sam just prior to the social worker coming.  Sam still had tears on his cheeks.  At least she got a good look at the real us:)

Soooooo... What is the next step in this who process?  The home study agency will submit their report to our adoption agency for approval sometime next week.  Our adoption agency will review it and approve it.  The home study agency will then send me several notarized copies of the home study.  I will then submit the home study with my I800A application and big donation check to UCIS to be approved as "suitable parents" to adopt from China.  We will go for yet ANOTHER set of finger prints, this time federal.  The I800A is our next big hurtle towards getting our dossier together.  Pray they start to move faster.  It is taking about 40 days or so to get I800A approval.  We will keep you posted!!!  We thank you for your continued prayer.
