One of the greatest honors a person can have is to serve his or her nation. So many movies, documentaries and books have told the story of what our nation considers it’s “Greatest Generation”, our World War II Veterans. The events that these men and women lived though, the hardships they and their families endured in the name of liberty and freedom, leave us in awe that heroes such as these truly exist.
Honor Flight is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to honor these American heroes for the many sacrifices they have given our country. They wish to transport all these American heroes from their homes to Washington, DC to visit their respective memorials before they die. Right now, the primary focus is on WWII as these veterans are our most senior heroes.
Troop 43 had the privilege of going to Washington Reagan Airport and be part of the Welcome Wagon for these special Veterans. Both Andrew and Scott were moved by the entire experience. It was truly an honor to be in the presence of these remarkable Americans.
