On Our Way Home....

There is so much I need to post about our final days on Okinawa. I think I will need to pour a HUGE glass of wine and sit and post and cry another day... For now, I want to keep you all posted with our PCS vacation as we head back to the good Ole' USA. We left Okinawa, Japan (our home for 6 years) yesterday morning with sad hearts. We arrived in Tokyo later that day and made our way from Tokyo airport to the New Sanno Hotel with 10 bags and assorted carry on luggage. We were a sight. I got to use my new favorite Japanese word, "Bestu Betsu" meaning separate, to ease the nerves of the lovely little taxi cab man who was trying to arrange transportation for 5 people and a ton of baggage. We spent yesterday afternoon just resting and swimming and turning in for an early night's sleep. Here are some fun photos of our trip and time in the pool...
The plane we wanted....
The plane we got...
What? No Blackberry????
Yes!!!
Pool Fun!Today we got up nice and early and headed to Hakone. This is one of Japan's National Parks. We were totally psyched to go and see views of Fuji that are supposed to be some of the best. We had a perfect clear and sunny day... except for over Mount Fuji itself. Bummer. We did have fun riding 13 different modes of transportation in 12 hours. Everything from trains to busses to gondolas to cable cars. It was something else!
Funny shot of Sam on the train...

We finally arrive in Hakone!!! We had a little lunch then walked along the shores of Lake Ashi toward the pirate ship that was our transportation across the lake...
The Boys favorite drink Qoo...

After arriving on the other side of Lake Ashi, we took the Hakone "Rope Way" up some really steep mountain. If only we could have gotten a good look at Fuji. This was the best we could do:(We took the gondola to Owakudani which is a still smoking volcano with some wicked smelling sulfur. They also sell famous "Black Eggs" that apparently give you 7 more years of life for every egg you eat. We opted out for ice cream instead and lost 7 years of life...Talk about salt in an open wound... %$*& Mountain...Gondola ride down!!!Finally, a sight for sore eyes... we found Coco Curry right there in the middle of Ebisu on the way home! All is right with the world...
