Baby's Got a New Pair of Shoes and a New Name!!!

I can already see that this adoption process is going to be a long one full of ups and downs.  We have been talking about "the baby" or our "little Chinese girl" etc etc.  Since we were tired of refering to this precious child in the thrid person, we decided to give our daughter a name so we could talk about her like one of our family members.  We are not final on the name as of yet becuase we do not know what her Chinese name will be and we are pretty certain we want to keep part of her name in her new American name.  So, for now, our daughter's name is......

We chose Kathryn for a couple reasons.  First, it has always been our girl's name.  Secondly, it was my Dad's mother's name.  She was an amazing woman who died WAY before her time and we wanted to honor her memory.  That and we always LOVED the name:)  Grace is also chosen for two reasons.  First, it was Scott's great grandmother's name and we wanted to honor her.  Secondly, her name will be a constant reminder of God's Riches At Christ's Expense.  It is by Grace we are His and by Grace Kathryn will be ours:)

We also felt like we needed something tangiable to hold and to touch.  Just proof that Katie is actually coming.  I was out shopping the other day and found the most darling pair of pink shoes.  I have no idea if she will be able to wear them when she comes home.  It does not really matter.  What matters is that they are a symbol of her homecoming sometime soon.  For now, they are our tangible reminder that our little girl is waiting for us and us for her.  We love you little Katie Grace!!!
