Indians and English and 4th Graders OH MY!!!

I was so excited to win the field trip lottery to the annual 4th grade field trip to Jamestown and Williamsburg.  What an awesome field trip!  Sam just finished a Unit on Jamestown, "The first permanent English Settlement".   It was only fitting that we would go visit said settlement.  At 5:50 in the morning, we boarded the busses and began our big 2 1/2 hour trek to Jamestown followed by a whirl wind tour of Williamsburg.  Mrs. T has a very well behaved group of 4th graders and they were all so knowledgable about the history of Jamestown.  Very impressive indeed....

Powhatan Indian Village

... One little Powhatan boy!

Loved this picture of the Powhatan baskets.  I was amazed at how at 3 years of age, Powhatan children began learning the art of rope making.

The Susan Constant...

Beautiful Williamsburg!

We are looking forward to returning to Williamsburg to explore even more.  What a wonderful day!
