Scouting for Food

We have been involved with Cub Scouting since 2003 when Andrew joined Tiger Cubs.  7 plus years later and it is getting a little old.  One thing that NEVER gets old is the special day we call "Scouting for Food".  The Pack went out and distributed fliers and bags asking for food donations to a local food pantry.  They returned a week later to reap the harvest.  This one activity so embodies service.  For once we go beyond earning badges and pins and really apply what values are taught in Scouting to real life. We had an absolute blast.  Here are some pictures of my Cubs Scouting "Route 17".

Scott had the boys operating like Crew Chiefs on the back of a CH46!  They LOVED riding with the trunk open.  They would jump out when they spotted a bag of food then jump back in and shout "CLEAR" when they jumped back in.  Such Marine kids:)
