Well, he did it and he did it well.
Kevin's project was the re-naturalization of the Prayer Garden at Olive Baptist Church.
The Prayer Garden is in a beautiful location but it was looking a little rough when we started.
There were several old concrete tables, of which this one looked the best...
There were a lot of dead plants and foliage that needed to be removed.
There was also the trellis which I am quite certain looked beautiful in its day, but now was rather run down.
Kevin started by building 3 picnic tables to replace the broken concrete tables he removed.
He had an assembly weekend last weekend with a small group of friends, scouts and family.
Papa John and Papa were in for the retirement (another post on that later... ) They were a HUGE help!
These guys can build a table!
One table down and 2 to go!
The next weekend we gathered at the job site. Kevin had carefully broken down all the mini projects that needed to be completed on the site. He gathered his work force and began to give his instructions...
I think he enjoyed making Andrew work
and telling him what to do!
Sam worked so hard with the fence crew digging holes and pouring concrete.
Andrew rallied two of his best friends to come out and help with the heavy lifting and work. They were a HUGE part of Kevin's success. Thank you Cole and Bradley!
When they were finished they had a new fence around the Prayer Garden...
3 New Picnic Tables,
and tons of removed trash and dying foliage.
Well done Troop 400 and Congratulations to Kevin for an Eagle Project that was well planned and executed.
I am so proud of Kevin and all his hard work. It takes so much work to plan, seek the various levels of project approval, seek donations, purchase your needs, organize your work force and execute the plan. It is no wonder so few make it to this point. The rank of Eagle Scout is certainly earned and not given. I am so proud of Kevin for sticking with it an not giving up on himself when it got hard. Only a few merit badges to go and we will have a new Eagle Scout!

Love the new header photo and congratulations to Kevin! We have one who is working on an idea and paperwork. Will be so happy when he gets it done and we can move on to the next one.
