Gifts are fun. I like to get them. While they rank pretty high on my inventory of the Five Love Languages, they are not the highest. Words of affirmation and QUALITY TIME are much higher on my list. My BEST gift this Mother's Day was spending a whole day with my family hiking Hedo Point. No checking email, no worrying about what orders we should take, no worrying about Marines in jail, no kids knocking on the door pulling the boys indifferent directions and NO CALLS ON THE CRACKBERRY... I mean Blackberry. We just enjoyed each other's company and laughed and laughed. We laughed about the fact that Sam was upset with Andrew. He tried to impress us by spelling a hard first grade word and Andrew jumped in and stole his thunder. Sam burst into tears and shouted: "JUST SHUT YOUR BIG 5TH GRADE MOUTH!!!" Rather than argue, in typical Payne Family Fashion, we made up a new song called "Big 5th Grade Mouth" and proceeded to sing it through out the day. Andrew was not insulted, rather he OWNED his new title with PRIDE!!! We even made up a cheer about it: "If you need to spell a word, who do you call? B5M!!! If you need an interesting factoid, who do you call? B5M!!!... " It goes on and on. We laughed about Kevin fighting the urge to pee until he could wait no longer and needed to use a tree. (Why is it that boys think it is so cool and often congratulate themselves adnosium over this?) We loved watching the boys climb the HUGE Banyon tree and play Tarzan. We loved reading all the Engrish signs. It was just a wonderful day with my beautiful family. It was truly a Happy Mothers Day!
