Corn Maze Craziness and 10 Months Home!!!

Oh, she had her very first field trip today to a real live corn farm!
She started with this year's corn measurement;)   We are excited to go back and see how tall she is next year!
Hanging out in the classroom learning about all the items we use that contain corn...
She is obviously very interested.  She does love her corn, after all!
 Then came the Corn Maze!!!
She was a little skeptical...
No reason to be skeptical... Girlfriend has in inner compass that was second to none!  She got us out of the maze in no time flat!
After the maze came the highlight of the field trip!  It is a COW TRAIN pulled by a golf cart!!!!!  Papa... I think I see big dollars in your future if you capitalize on this idea!!!
 Lovin' her some cow!
(The Chinese bubble over her head says:  "Where AM I"?????)
After the cow ride we headed over to the corn popper!  I want a corn popper in my back yard!  It was this giant yellow inflatable blob perfect for bouncing!!!
Here she is hanging out with one of her classmates.
 My little corn popper...
 Displaying her gift of bossiness...
Static Electricity meets Kate as she flies down this awesome slide!!!
 10 Precious Months Home and...

*We are now called Mommy and Daddy more than Mama and Baba.
*Kate now has a lot more independent play!  So fun to watch!!!
*Jumps into the pool all by herself and will swim to you.  She also likes to be thrown into the pool by her brothers!  She squeals with delight!
*After moving to "Lower Alabama" (as this area is affectionately called),  Scott decided our family needed to have an SEC football team we "followed".  It needed to be one that is a commonly rooted for team in this area.  Kate made the decision easy by declaring:  "ROLL TIDE, DADDY" at the top of her lungs, over and over again.  She says it often and proudly...  It is reminiscent of Scott saying "Beat Navy" to any question he did not know the answer to...  To all our Army friends, we are working on a resounding BEAT NAVY for the big day...
*Still on the football front, every football team she sees is called "Go Pace"!  She has heard this at the High School ball games as well as her brothers' REC league.
*She loves her Monster Towel at bath time and growls so she can scare everyone in the house:)
*She is about 80% potty trained!!!
*Just yesterday, she came up to me and said, clear as a bell:  "Yeeyus yove me!!!"  (Jesus loves me!)
*She continues to bloom right before our very eyes.  We are so very much in love!

I noticed something for the first time today.
Kate attends New Beginnings Pre-School.
What an apt name for her school at this stage in her life.
These past ten months with this child have been a literal New Beginning for our daughter.
She was living with a medical condition that in China she was unlikely to see her fifth birthday.  Frankly, after reviewing her medical records after getting them translated, I wonder if she would be alive today.
A chance at life.
A New Beginning.
She lived in a country where being an orphan carried a stigma that would remain with her for her entire life.
She had no family.
She does now.
Forever.
A New Beginning.
She was living in a country where people are not free to say the name of Jesus.
There is a very small percentage of the population that call themselves Christians.
It is a nation without hope; without the love of the Savior.
She now knows that "Yeeyus" loves her and she will one day have the chance to know Him more and call on Him as her Lord and Savior!
HOPE!!!
A New Beginning.

the long road
