All About Sam!

Our youngest Man-cub turned 12 this week!  

Kate was not convinced it was not her Happy Day.  When I sang to him that morning she gave Sam the BIGGEST Gunagxi Stink Eye!

 She warmed up to the idea!

  Sam was a good sport about wearing the Birthday Crown:)

Oh how we love this precious boy who has the BIGGEST heart for Jesus!

We love celebrating birthdays here at the House of Payne!

Sam's is no exception!

Grammy and Papa sent this most OBNOXIOUS birthday card ever!  He LOVED it and so did Kate!!!

It was a Giant's gift theme:)  He also got a cool golf game for the pool and lots of money towards the new iPod touch he is saving for!  He is almost there!  By the time they are released he will be first in line!!!

On the Scouting front, Sam put on Tenderfoot.  He has actually had most of this done for a while.  With the move and the football conflict he has slowed down a little.  He is so close to second class as well!  We are so proud of him!

And lastly... Home school!  This kid is working SO hard.  He starts about 8:30 and his day ends about 4.  He is learning so much!  This week's Bible lesson was Saul's encounter with Jesus on the Road to Damascus.  Below is Sam's depiction of the encounter:)  We were LOVING how Jesus turned out!

I love this kid.  In his study this week he empathized with Ananias and his bravery in obeying God even when God called him to do what Ananias believed was the hardest thing ever; praying over the man responsible for the persecution and death of many of his dear friends and brothers in Christ.  Ananias stepped out in FAITH and obeyed God.  Oh how he was blessed in his obedience!  He had front row seats to the conversion of one of Christianity's violist offenders.  The man who was the Christians' biggest advisory became her biggest advocate!  To God be the Glory!!!!  

Sam has the heart of Ananias!  

My prayer for him is that when tested, he displays the same bravery and complete obedience as Ananias.

You are an amazing young man.  I am blessed to call you my son!  I love watching what God is doing in your life!
