The hospital where Kate receives treatment recently started a special program called Beads of Courage.
This is a very special program designed to help children cope with their diseases and disorders in a creative and expressive way.
The patient begins with letter beads to spell their name.
They then receive beads for various procedures. Some beads represent something "small" like a clinic visit to something more serious like a bone marrow transplant.
Each bead tells part of their story, from needle sticks, to inpatient stays at the hospital, to ER visits, to port placement, to chemotherapy, to scans, to medicine taking challenges and more.
Each bead telling another part of their unique story; each bead representing a brave heart.
These are Kate's beads.
They tell just the part of her story since she has been home with us.
22 months of beads.
22 months of courage like I have never seen.
I am so thankful for this amazing program that is helping so many children have an outlet to creatively express their testimony!
Kate's beads tell the story of a brave little girl who lost all she once knew to begin a new.
Her beads mean even more than that.
They are a tangible symbol of God's unending faithfulness in every needle poke, blood draw, transfusion, MRI, surgery and more.
They are a tangible reminder that He is truly good, all the time.

I think this program is awesome! Its like a secret club too. For a lot its just beads. The ones in it know what each bead stands for. What each one REALLY stands for. That's AWESOME.
