Birthday, Valentines and Homecoming… Oh My!

Scott has been away for about 6 weeks.  He took our Training Wing to New Mexico to get some good weather to train our pilots.
Six weeks is not a really long time compared to other deployments we have done, but for one little girl, it was the longest she had ever been away from her Daddy.
She missed him so much!
Even the big boys were glad he was coming home.
Me?  Well that goes with out saying.  Truly, half of my heart is missing when he is not here.
Welcome Crew waiting in the terminal...
This is an AWFUL picture.  I had messed up my settings :(
BUT, it still captures the excitement these two had at seeing one another again!
Did I mention she missed him?
Nothing Like having Dad home again!
Scott's birthday was on the 10th so we decided to celebrate his 44th on Valentines Day
(I took a break from my recent cake baking failures and got a much requested ice cream cake!)
It might as well have been her birthday...
All my valentines enjoyed the celebration!
These two boys have such a fun relationship.  They make each other laugh and they make me laugh too!  I am excited to watch their relationship grow as they mature.
 This. Is. Sam.
He is sporting one of his many funny faces he makes when he wants to drive his brothers up a tree.
He is very good at it!
Despite his "little brother" status, I am excited to watch his relationship grow with his brothers as well.
He keeps us laughing, that is for sure!
Yesterday Scott finally took a day off and came to the local park with Kate and me.
You have to love my Marine for blowing bubbles for his girl.
My boys will tell you that grafting Kate into our family has softened Scott.
I think that is true in many ways!
There is something about having a daughter (especially one that has you wrapped around her finger)!
More than that, there is something about being obedient, walking WAY out of your comfort zone, taking that walk all the way to China and making one your own.
It has changed us all for the better.
The face of complete adoration :)
It is a special bond indeed!

So, Happy Birthday and Happy Valentines to my best friend!
God is good!
