Track Season has begun with the first JV Meet yesterday afternoon!
It was a small meet with one other school with a team about half the size of ours.
Great training for our team for sure!
Andrew ran in 3 events.
First was the 4X800. His team ran 2 groups against each other which was a lot of fun to watch.
Here is Andrew waiting to receive the baton…
He did a great job running his leg.
It really is a training run when you chat with your buddy the whole time :)
Meet next year's Cross Country team Captains!
Aren't they cute!?!
His second event was the mile.
He ran it exactly as he planned. He won it with a 5:16.
What was exciting is he had plenty left in the tank. He thinks he will break 5 this season!
He has worked so hard.
Winning the mile!!!
Last but not least was the open 800.
Poor guy's legs were whooped by this point, but he still ran his race.
So proud of all his hard work. Andrew has a lot on his plate trying to balance school, clubs, Senior Patrol Leader responsibilities and running. He is handling it with grace.
I shared with Andrew that God gave me a verse for him during my quiet time.
"You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world" 1John 4:4.
Oh if we could all trust in that truth! We are victorious because He dwells within those who have called on His Name. No matter what the time on the clock says, grade on a test says or anyone says about you; you have already one the battle. Make all you do bring Glory to the One Who dwells within you.
Looking forward to a great season!
