Once an Eagle...

Always an Eagle.

Amazing how time flies...
How a child begins Scouting as a little boy,

makes the bridge to Boy Scouting...

And becomes a young man right before your eyes.

How is it possible that yesterday we sat in the Outdoor Chapel that was my son's Eagle Project and celebrated his amazing accomplishment of achieving the highest level in Boy Scouting?

Here he stands with two friends he respects so dearly.  He is just about to be escorted in to his ceremony

Before being escorted in, Andrew listened as his Uncle Bill recounted the path of hard work it took to get to where he is today.  At the front of the chapel, there were rank insignia each with a candle in front.  Different boys from the troop who were the actual rank came forward to light the candles.
Here is Sam lighting Tenderfoot.
Kevin lighting First Class...

Oh how we love this precious young man.

Receiving the Eagle Charge from every Eagle present in the audience.  Andrew was BEYOND thrilled that his very first Scout Master Col. Watson, from Okinawa, Japan was there to read the charge!
Andrew is also quite attached to his current Scout Master, Mr. Casey.  He was thrilled to have him remove the very neckerchief he put on just three years ago.

Scott was BESIDE himself to be able to put on Andrew's brand new Eagle neckerchief
And award him his Eagle Badge.
And me?  Well, I FINALLY got my final Mother's pin giving me every pin from Tiger Cub to Eagle Scout!!!
Scott's remarks about his boy.  He began with:  "This is my son in whom I am well pleased".  The tears for me began and did not stop.  So thankful I got to speak first;)

Grandma BoBo and Papa John were able to make it!!!
A very happy family!!!

Thank you Col Watson and Mr. Casey for all you have instilled in our son!  We are forever grateful!

Andrew-
We are so very proud of the young man you are!  We pray that you never loose sight of what this rank represents.  More importantly, we pray you never loose sight of the One who walked with you every step of the way and will continue to lift you up and never, ever let you down.

Well done, my son.  Well done!

Congratuations to Andrew for this special achievement! And look at all those badges he has earned! I'm touched by the commitment that you and your husband make to your children.

P.S. So cute that Kate always has her arms around someone in pictures. She'll be a "Daisy" scout before you know it.
