In an attempt to redeem our Spring Break, I headed North with my good friend Kim and her kids. We had a great time checking out all the cool birds and turtles at Okinawa's Neo Park.
If you have been to the major zoos in the US you would be appauled by the zoos here on Okinawa. It is rather disturbing. After turning a blind eye to the rather unkemt animals and sad looking birds we needed to stop for some much needed refreashment. All the kids were very excited to dine on an Okinawan favorite, Kaki Kori... or better known as shaved ice. While standing on line, Kim got the bright idea to dare Andrew to eat the pickeled Squid that was sitting in a plastic container that resembled something one would find little packs of Slim Jims. Not being one to turn down a dare of any sort... Andrew agreed. Great.

That was not good enough for Ms. Kim... "I dare you to bite the legs!!!" Andrew does not disappoint!!!

Needless to say, we made sure they threw out the rest as it really STUNK to high heaven!!! It was fun. Important to note that none of Kim's kids nor Kevin took a bite!!!
