It was a sad day in the House of Payne when we realized that our yearly pilgrimage to the House that Babe Built had sold out bus tickets. We would not be able to attend our annual Yankees Game. One day while searching on the web I cam to the realization that there were still plenty of seats, just no seats on the bus. I asked Papa if he would be up for a trip to the city. After watching Andrew's shear delight in seeing the game on TV, Papa decided it was worth the trip. We bought tickets and drove to Tarrytown, NY (Home of my college... Marymount College!!!). Andrew got to experience taking the train into Grand Central Station! He has been on a lot of metro systems literally though out the world, but he was just mesmerized by this ride! We made our way through one of the most famous (and dirty) train stations in the world to reach the #4 train to Yankee Stadium. This car/metro way to the stadium was not that bad. A little more crowded and colorful than the bus from UpState, but interesting none the less. One of the advantages of going on our own was we were able to choose our own seats. I would HAND PICK theses seats again, if I could! They were fantastic!!! We were on the first row of the upper tier, parallel to third base (Hellloooo A Rod!) . We even had a shelf of our drinks! Great fun! One other advantages / problems with these seats was it was PRIME fouled ball territory for left handed hitter's foul balls! Andrew even was able to get the tip of his glove on a fouled ball, but some man grabbed the ball right from him:( The only redeeming quality for this man was that he gave the ball to his own kid... Andrew was pretty bummed. Spirits were lifted as The Yankees WON their game against Tampa Bay!!! Here are some awesome pics of our day together!!!
