An Orphan No More

I had the ugly cry today.

You know the one, full blown sobs, shaking with a mixture of sadness and pure joy.

Sadness that any child would have to experience being an orphan; abandoned, alone, forsaken.

Joy that our daughter no longer bears this title; found, loved and forever part of a family.

Kate's orphanage is in Laibin City, China.

Recently, a family who also adopted from this orphanage a number of years before us, brought their daughter back to see where she lived and to meet some of the women who loved her and cared for her until  her family could get to her. 

These are some of the same precious women who cared for our Kate while she waited.

We sent then and now photos to this family who put them in an album and presented it to the staff.

And here they are, pouring over pictures of our beautiful daughter...

The looks on their faces as they are looking at our daughter just took my breath away and the ugly cry emerged.

These ladies loved our little girl.

They held her, rocked her, stayed with her when she had to spend days at a time in the hospital.

They stood in the gap until we could get there.

They did the best they could with her.

They are part of the reason Kate is alive today.

All these thoughts went running through my head.

She is an orphan no more!!!

Praise God there ARE loving staffs at orphanages around the world who stand waiting and loving until the forever families arrive.

Continue to pray with me that hearts would be moved to step out in faith and care for the least of these through adoption, sponsorship, fundraising and prayer!!!  

Stand up Church!!!
