Poor Sam...

He needed to go to the doctor today to have a Pulmonary Lung Function test. They used to start doing these at age 7 but recently switched it to 6. Well, Sam can barely manage using the peak flow monitor much less this test, but I agreed. He had to sit in this booth with a clip that pinched his nose shut. Then they stuck this cylinder in his mouth. He needed to take several normal breaths followed deep breath in. He needed to give a hard breath out then continue breathing out until his lungs where totally empty. Poor guy just could not do it. What a mean test for a kid who does not have great lung function to begin with... He needs to try again when he is 7. He was pretty sad:( Needless to say we did not get a good read, but the exertion of the test made his pulse o2 dip into the 96 range... He was pretty wiped...
