Sam's Steppin' into First Grade Field Trip

Sam had his last field trip of the year today:) We went to one of the local Japanese Parks (Comprehensive Park). We had a great time feeding the nasty looking Coy fish and playing on playground equipment that US lawyers would have a field day with: Note the crazy rope climbing equipment alone!!! Sam got to choose his Field Trip Buddy and he chose his friend Skyler. Mr. Skyler was an absolute joy to be around. We had a great time playing, eating our lunchables and grabbing some refreshing Fanta Melon from one of the many vending machines in the park. Skyler did surprise me by choosing milk tea... eeewwww. To each his own I suppose! The only nasty part of our trip was the fact that the Okinawan heat has settled in this week and it was Africa hot! At least it did not rain. We did however feel like we were swimming through Pea Soup! Here are a few pictures from Sam's big day! Note the picture of Sam's awesome teaching team. Mrs. Hunt is on the left and she was Sam's teaching assistant. She is also the one who is moving to the land of the Native Americans. Ms. Akers is Sam's kindergarten teacher. She has been the biggest blessing of Zukeran Elementary. We love her so much. Sam is not interested in moving to first grade. He has made it known that he wants to stay in kindergarten with Ms. Akers and remain an "Akers' Apple" forever. The man on the right is the infamous Mr. Jason. He is the son of Andrew's 4th grade teacher. He has spent the year volunteering in the classroom. He is much nicer in kindergarten than he was in the 4th grade. Sam loves him... Andrew, not so much:)
