We arrived in Beaufort on the 2nd of August. What a treat to spend time with Grandma BoBo and Papa John as well as Aunt Sarah and Uncle Brad. We missed Uncle Bill a ton, but certainly talked about him so much that his ears must have been ringing non stop! We had planned our whole visit with him when he was in Iraq the first time. Who knew the Marine Corps would need him back there so quickly. Frustrating to be sure. We did make the best of it, knowing that is what Bill would like.
Friday was a great day for poor Scott to try to adjust to the time zone on the East Coast. While he was doing that, the ladies of the group got to go shopping in downtown Beaufort. This is one of my favorite things to do when we visit. I can always count on fun little treats to buy and some fun quality time over a nice lunch with my Mother and Sister in law:) The man side of the family did manage to get a little fishing in while we were away. Now, they did not get any bites from any fish. They did manage something even better in the eyes of a 10, 8 and 6 year old... they got the resident alligator to take a snap at their bobbers!!!!
Check out fishermen Scott, Brad, Andrew, Kevin and Sam...
After some time spent resting up from the big shopping/fishing trip, all the adults got to go out for a wonderful dinner to celebrate my in laws' 40th Wedding Anniversary!!! (Thanks to a little help from professional babysitters: Ms. Josie and Ms Cece!!! -I know I spelled that wrong... sorry!) Here are some pictures of that night....
A group shot before we left to pick up Karen (Bill's girlfriend)...
As you can see, Bill was never far from our thoughts... Here is a place setting in his honor.
Here we are at dinner. The pretty young lady next to me is Karen. She is just the sweetest person. We can certainly see why Bill is so smitten with her!!! We all think she is a keeper!!!
A great time was had by all! Tune in for more pictures as we head to the mountains of Andrew and Kevin's native North Carolina!!!!
