Today was the fateful day on Okinawa when all the children attending Department of Defense Schools learn who their teacher for the following year will be... We were very pleased with our results.
Sam will be having Mrs. Rawls. She is a wonderful lady. Sam could not have gone wrong with the team of fabulous first grade teachers. I would not have been disappointed with any of them. However, if I needed to pick my teacher, this would have been the one I would have picked:) She is terrific!
Kevin got to loop up with Mrs. Waitie. Poor Mrs. Waitie. She almost lost her class today due to a need for more first grade teachers. She stood firm and she ended up needing to compromise with a 1st / 2nd combo. This is not a bad thing for Kevin. He likes helping others and she used him in that capacity last year. She has always been a teacher that teaches to the ability of her students. We are pleased with the arrangement and even more so that he will have the consistency of 2 years in a row with a fabulous teacher.
Andrew ended up with a new to Zukeran teacher. Mrs. Ahn is moving over from another school system in Okinawa. She has a fabulous reputation as a 5th grade teacher. We are very excited. Be looking for 1st day of school pictures coming soon!!! School starts MONDAY!!!!
