The Evolution of the Rocky Mountain National Park

Kevin just finished his 5th grade social studies project.  He needed to make a diorama of a location in the West.  He wanted to do the Rocky Mountain National Forest and the Colorado River.  He was quiet impressive and did a great job!

First Kev found a picture of the Rocky mountains and put it up as a back drop.  He then took news paper and masking tape to create the foundation for his mountains and water fall.
 Dipping the paper mache
 Paper mached mountains!
 Painted Ground
Added grass, trees, water and rocks
Kevin researched some of the common wildlife found in the park and added these little guys!  He reminded me of Mr. Tumnes!
 Mountain Goat
 Finished Product!!!!
 Proud creator!
So... on a different note, Kevin has the time 3:30 pm written on his hand.  Apparently it is some 5th grade girl game called "Zapped".  Apparently the girls write the name of a girl on the inside of the boy's hand.  The time gets written on the outside.   When the time arrives, the boy must ask the girl whose name is written on the inside of his hand to be his girlfriend.  Kevin's time came and he went to his girl and said:  "I am sorry, but I am not allowed to have a girlfriend"!  Love that kid!  How long do you think he will say that?  Hmmmmm....
