Sunday Snapshot: MARINE DAY - OORAH!!!!

So... Uncle Bill is basically reaching Hero status here in the House O' Payne!  He currently works on the staff of The Basic School.  This is the school that every Marine officer must go through before moving on to their first MOS specific schools and fleet assignments.  No matter what a Marine Officer does in the Marine Corps, they must pass through these doors.  I digress... Once a year, UB's command hosts a Marine Day.  Marine Day is the Marines' opportunity to show off its capabilities to members of the Congressional Staff.  The day before the Congressional show, the Marines practice the event with family members.  Guess who got to be the guinea pigs????  Yup!  The Payne Boys and this Payne Girl!!!

Here we GOOOOO!!

The day started pretty rainy.  The Marines hooked us up with camo ponchos!!!

 The Battle for Centralia begins with a Sniper running after getting his shot!

 Bring on Marine Air!!!  Here is one for Mr. Leon!!!  We still think Wheels rule over Skids but this Super Cobra was pretty impressive.  Young Andrew thinks it would be pretty cool to fly:)

 This looks like a scene out of an action film.  BEYOND cool and was a HUGE hit with the Payne boys one and all!!!

 After the show we got dressed in flack jackets and Kevlar helmets.  No worries... my flack jacket was under my gorgeous poncho.  New fashion statement for sure!

 First thing we did was ride on an Amtrax!!!  I was squealing like a school girl the entire time!!!  (Not too Marine like...) It was like a ride at an amusement park.  So FUN!  Did it once and don't ever have to do it again!!!

 Off to shooting guns... Big A with the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon.
