We got up early this morning and walked about 20 minutes to the Forbidden City!

The Forbidden City is the old Dytnastic Capitol of China.

It was fascinating walking through the grounds.

The buildings were reminiscent of Shuri Castle on Okinawa just a WHOLE lot larger. The views were simply breathtaking. We were amazed at the detail of the woodwork. This place is truly a work of art.

Every time I turned around there was something more to take a photo of! For less than 48 hours in Beijing, I think we accomplished a lot!

At about 1:45 we boarded the plane to head to Nanning.

Nanning is the provincial capitol of Guangxi Province. All adoptions in Guangxi are processed here. We are currently sitting 3 hours away from our sweet little girl. I can hardly stand myself! The plane ride was... interesting. It was mad hot, packed and smelly. We had the pleasure of sitting in front of the loudest talking Chinese Man on all of China. We sat on the runway in Beijing for an hour. Did I mention it was hot and smelly? We finally took off and flew the long 3 1/2 hours to Nanning. Partway through the flight we start to smell cigarette smoke! NO JOKE! When we landed, the plane was still taixing and the entire plane stood up to get their belongings! It was bizarro world! Nanning is MUCH different from Beijing. It reminds Scott of the Philippines. It is warm here. Much like Okinawa in November. Poor Kate is in for it once we get her back to the cold of DC!
Tomorrow we drive to Laibin. This is Kate's hometown. We will be taking pictures of her finding spot and other places in the city. Our guide Cindy told us that due to a meeting at the normal spot they have parents meet children, the director will be bringing Kate to our room at 11:30 on Monday morning!!!! Amazing!
Please pray...
*For safety in our drive to Laibin... driving here would make a NYC taxi driver sweat!
*For Kate as she spends one last day as an orphan. Pray she bonds with us quickly.
*Pray also for my brother and his precious family who lost their sweet puppy LuLu yesterday:(
We love you!

Amazing!! How will you not go crazy when you are in Laibin tomorrow?! I HEAR YA on the plane ride - some of those people are CRAZY, apparently there are no rules about staying buckled until the plane comes to a complete stop.
And smoking?! Crazy!! And not at. All. Surprising :)
We got Mya in our room too!! It was an awesome experience! Hope that happens to us in a week too :)
Thank you so much for the updates! I love reading about your adventures and about Kate coming right to you!! God is so good!! Your pictures are amazing and you are right, "two of those things are not like the others"!!! Love you all!!
We love you too! Praying! GBB/PPJ
